This website tells about phase II of the National Holodomor-Genocide Museum construction project

On November 18, 2019, the second meeting of the Supervisory Board of the International Foundation for the Development of the Holodomor Victims’ Memorial was held. Committee members Lesia Hasydzhak and Bohdan Morklianyk, Olesia Stasiuk, General Director of the National Museum of the Holodomor-Genocide, architects and designers working on the project also took part at the meeting.

The introductory (unofficial) part of the meeting was the visit to the Hall of Memory of the National Museum of the Holodomor-Genocide and an acquaintance with the construction site, accompanied by representatives of the Chief Designer of Project Systems. Andrii Zamohylnyi, Director of the Directorate for Construction of the Second Phase, told the members of the Supervisory Board about the progress of preparatory and construction work for 2019 – 2020.

The meeting began with ​​presenting the Project of the future museum. Architectural project and locations of the memorial complex in the cultural Kyiv landscape was presented by Andrii Myrhorodskyi, project director of Project Systems LTD. Miroslaw Nizio, Founder of Nizio Design International, focused on the symbolism of the project and integration of the architectural project into museum interior and the exhibit. Gary Walker-Kerr, Partner and Director of Haley Sharpe Design, spoke about the basic building principles of the future museum exhibit.

Head of the Supervisory Board informed about the progress of the project implementing, Ivan Vasiunyk, informed about the progress of the project implementing, emphasizing the results of the Foundations’ work in 2019.

William Petruck, President of FUNDING Matters Inc., introduced the concept of the fundraising campaign for the Holodomor Museum, jointly developed with the Canadian-Ukrainian Foundation.

At the end of the meeting, the members of the Supervisory Board discussed the program of the forthcoming Special Event of the National Holodomor Museum and several organizational points.
